- 28 May 1989: first stone
- 23 March 1993: 16m/261s/GOTO GM-II-AT
- 2012: upgrade for LDD (Laser Digital Device) Rs 30 crore
- 2015: Zeiss Spacegate SL
- February 2019: tender for 8K/3D system (dome, projectors, seats, carpet, sound, lighting, etc)
- June 2022: GOTO dismantled
- February 2024: reopening renovated (total building renovation), GOTO dismantled and exhibed
