- February 1, 1965: 23m/570s/Zeiss UPP 23/4 (A.N.S. Kulasinghe, chief engineer), gift from GDR
- 1999: portable planetarium
- December 9, 2014: building refurbished, digital (they keep the Zeiss UPP 23/4)
- February 17, 2024: closed (critical need for repairs)
- March 12, 2024: reopening
