 - January 1969: Opening
- when?: Mirrordome
- Oct. 2016: closed (continue with portable) because Hurricane Matthew flood the building, Spitz dead
- 2018: flood again, project to rebuild Planetarium and Science Center ($6 million), code name: Project Phoenix
- 2018: continue with a portable
- January 2022: $5 million for new facility
- June 2024: project of new planetarium will be part of the Robeson County Career and Technical Education Center ($72.6million)
- fall 2024: start construction
