History
- November 10, 1968: inauguration
- March 1, 1969: opening and mark as birthday day: 23m/500s/concentric/Zeiss UPP 23/5
- Dec. 15, 1998: 22m/320s/oriented/Zeiss VIII (Zeiss UPP 23/5 stored in the basement)
- 2012: temporarily closed
- 2013: reopening Zeiss Powerdome (7+2 Velvet)
- 2010s: Zeiss Universarium Model VIII Starts to Broken and Was Not Fixed Because of the Hard Bureaucracy and the Velvet Projector also caught on the lawsuit cause the goverment perspective doesn't happy with the result and the Velvet Projector was locked and unused
- 2019: The whole Taman Ismail Marzuki complex management including Planetarium & Observatorium Jakarta changes hands from UP PKJ TIM to PT. Jakarta Propertindo
- 2021: The Planetarium & Observatorium Jakarta start it's renovation as part of the phase 2 of Taman Ismail Marzuki revitalization by Jakpro
- 2021-2025: The real Planetarium & Observatorium Jakarta teams con statly makes a Astronomy activity many times with Planetarium Mini as it main attraction in very limited capacity during it's closure and uncertain closure and management
- November 2024: Completely renovated building with some of the Planetarium building like on the North (Observatorium, lobby, and entrance was destroyed for the lake), West and South was converted into Arts Center and Teater Wahyu Sihombing, and the East and the Teater Bintang was the Only Remaining Planetarium Area (but stay closed)
- December 23, 2025: Teater Bintang (not include the whole Planetarium complex) reopens to the public with Epson Digital Projector. And Zeiss Universarium Model VIII left to rot and broken on the middle of the Teater Bintang theater
