History
- before 1970: no exact date, GOTO E5, umbrella dome (3m), Commercial Street, Leigh
- 1977: GOTO E5 + umbrella passed on Astronomical Society of Edinburgh then Highland Astronomical Society in Inverness
- 1977: move on Milton road near Portobello, GOTO 6E, 6m
- 1987: College shut down (but not the planetarium)
- 1995: Dr Gavine retired, replaced by Harry Sutherland
- 2003: closed, moved to Manchester (Museum of Science and Industry) set up by Dr Gavine and a former technician at Leith: Ian Boettcher
