History
- June 14, 1962: two Zeiss ZKP1 received (one for Museo Tomas Romey in Santiago de Cuba: see 1595 and the second for Museo Felipe Poey
- May 26, 1964: opening Museo in the Capitol (1st floor, north wing) with ZKP1 planetarium
- October 1977: Zeiss ZKP2 delivered (but will remain in its packaging, never installed)
- 1985: renamed Museo de Ciencias Naturales
- 1995: Museum in the Capitole closes
- 1999: moved to actual location (Obispo/Plaza de Armas): reopening without planetarium
