- 1930 to 1944 stored in Stockholm
- 1944 to 1949: stored in Goteborg

- 1947: start construction Planetarium
- May 10, 1949: 20.7m/330s/Zeiss II (from Goteborg) sixth in USA, $3 million
- 1959: Zeiss II upgraded to III
- 1959-1975: astronauts training
- March 19, 1969: 20.7m/330s/Zeiss VI
- 1973: observatory (east wing)
- 1984: computer automation of programs
- 2002: renamed (Morehead Planetarium and Science Center)
- 2010: fulldome + renamed (GlaxoSmithKline)
- April 2011: Zeiss VI dismantled (oriented seats, $1.5 million)
