History
- 9 April 1957: ground-breaking ceremony (Buckminster Fuller architect)
- June 29, 1958: first public show, 282 seats/Spitz Model B (building: $600,000)
- 1999 to 2000: connected to Bower theater
- 2001: Digistar II ($650,000) (today: Spitz B in exhibit in the lobby)
- 2004: merger between Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium
- closed between January and May 2015: total renovation
