- 1972: start construction
- April 24, 1974: opening to the public
- May 23, 1974: inauguration original Cernan Earth and Space Center with Gene Cernan present, less than two years after Apollo 17
- 1982: original building closed due to major structural problems
- January 12, 1985: new Space Center building opened with slightly larger dome but same building m2, Spitz 512A ($1.1 million) 35mm
- April 2015: Konica-Minolta Super Mediaglobe II
- September 2015: carpet, seats (35mm dismantled)
- Summer 2019: new computer + Digistar 6, sound system
- 2025: projectors JVC 4010
